WPlus9 April 2012 Release: Day 2

Hey there, everyone!!  Welcome to day 2 of this month's WPlus9 release week!  So, did you just love the stamp sets & dies that were shown yesterday?  It certainly seems like it, because we have heard TONS of great feedback!!  That is such a delight!  Tonight we have more stamps and dies to share with you.  First up, here is the information on the stamp set for my first card:

Mother's Day Bouquet
  • is a 4x3 clear photopolymer stamp set
  • contains 11 stamps; 6 images and 1 sentiment
  • will be available for purchase April 5th
This is such a pretty mini stamp set, with pretty flowers & a butterfly that are very easy to fussy cut.  You will see that is what I did on my card, and then layered them together to add dimension.  Here is what I created!
 "Happy Mother's Day" supplies:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (vintage cream)
Paper/Tag: The ScrapCake (My Private Happiness 6x6 paper pad)
Stamps: WPlus9 (Mother's Day Bouquet set)
Ink: Clearsnap (Pigment: berry, turquoise, fresh green, moss green & Stephanie Bernard Dye: banana)
Buttons: American Crafts, SEI, & Basic Grey
Seam Binding: Really Reasonable Ribbon
Twine: May Arts
Diecut Machine: Cuttlebug by Provo Craft
Dies: Spellbinders (lacey circles) & WPlus9 (label layers 1)
Sandpaper

Instructions:  Make card from vintage cream cardstock.  Cut pink dotted paper slightly smaller, sand the edges and adhere.  Cut a block of floral paper, sand the edges and adhere to the top.  Sand the edges of a matching tag and adhere to the middle.  Diecut a lacey circle from plaid paper, sand the edges and adhere to the top of the tag.  Tie a double bow from cream seam binding, thread a button around the middle using twine and adhere to the top of the tag.  Diecut the label from vintage cream cardstock, then stamp the sentiment to it.  Stamp the flowers & leaves to vintage cream cardstock, and cut out.  Adhere to the bottom of the sentiment label, and then accent with jewels.  Stamp the butterflies to vintage cream cardstock, cut out and adhere to the label.  Add the entire stamped label to the middle of the card.  Thread three buttons with twine and adhere them to the lower right corner to finish.

Card Challenges Used:
-The Poodles Parlour- polka dots
-For Fun challenge- buttons galore

So, we have celebrated mother's so far.  How about we celebrate all the father's in the world too!  First up, here is the info on the stamp set & dies used:

Super Star
  • is a 6x8 clear photopolymer stamp set
  • contains 17 stamps; 9 images, 1 banner, and 8 sentiment builders
  • will be available for purchase April 5th
Tie Companion Die
  • coordinates with the Super Star stamp set
  • two separate dies wired together that can be easily snipped and separated
  • will be available for purchase April 5th
Banner Trio Die
  • compliments the Super Star and Love You More stamp sets
  • three separate dies wired together that can be easily snipped and separated
  • will be available for purchase April 5th
I didn't use the Tie Companion Dies, but can't wait to use them in the near future!!  They will make for such cute masculine cards!!  For my card, I focused on the awesome star burst in the stamp set, and the banners.  Here is what I created:
 "Super Amazing Spectacular Dad" supplies:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (kraft, vintage cream)
Paper: October Afternoon (5 & Dime: wax bottles)
Stamps/Dies: WPlus9 (Super Star & Banner Trio sets)
Ink: Clearsnap (Stephanie Bernard dye: chocolate) & Tsukineko (Versafine: onyx black)
Distress Ink/Blending Tool: Tim Holtz (antique linen)
Twine: My Mind's Eye
Jewels: Doodlebug Designs (brown) & Westrim Crafts (clear stars)
Diecut Machine: Cuttlebug by Provo Craft

Instructions: Make card from kraft cardstock.  Cut two strip of star paper, distress ink the edge and adhere to the top and bottom of the card.  Stamp the star burst to the top of the kraft cardstock, and accent with clear star jewels.  Diecut the banner from vintage cream cardstock, distress ink the edges and then stamp the border and sentiment to it.  Adhere the banner to the bottom of the star bursts.  Stamp the rest of the sentiment directly below the banner, and then accent with brown jewels.  Wrap twine around the top and bottom seams to finish.
