Recent Tulle obsession...

I just realized that three of the four projects I am posting tonight have tulle on them. I think I might just have a little bit of an addiction to tulle these days...must be my new thing. Tee hee! ;)

Isn't this little witchy card adorable!! I used some of the My Mind's Eye's "Nightlight" paper line, and embellished with that cute K & Company witch sticker, and some generic glittered foam stickers from Michael's. That second layer on the card is just a square of cream colored felt...I thought it added some good dimension to the card. And then of course...the black tulle tied in a bow, and a pin & rhinestone added to it for some bling.

This is one of three October assignments for Provo Craft. I used the new "Combo Snowflake" (cut and emboss) for the Cuttlebug machine. After cutting and embossing the snowflake from white cardstock...I covered it in shimmery glitter to give it that extra something! This card uses Basic Grey "Figgy Pudding" papers, some SEI ribbon, and American Crafts sentiment rub-on...and lots of zig-zag stitching. Love the handmade touch that gives it!This is my second October Provo Craft project. I used my Cricut Expression and the Indie Arts solutions cartridge to cut out the lips and the "smack" diecuts, glittering the lips and setting aside to let them dry. After assembling the strips of paper and stitching them, I attached them to the tin using my hot glue gun. I then filled the tin up with kisses and then tied a tulle bow around the closed tin. Then it was time to assemble the lips and attach to the middle of the bow as an accent. Then I attached the "smack" cut, and added a little Valentine's Day rub-on directly to the tin.

And last but not least is my third October Provo Craft project. I cut out the tag envelope using my Cricut Expression, and the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cartridge, and then assembled it. I then embossed a block of orange cardstock with the new "Pumpkin Harvest" embossing folder for the Cuttlebug and adhered it to the front. Then I cut the leaf out with my Cuttlebug as well, using the new combo "Maple Leaf" die & emboss set. Once everything was attached and accented, I cut out the letters using my Cricut and the "Street Signs" cartridge, and finished off the envelope. So, that is all for me. Football season has officially ended for the Panthers. I know that I have a football update left to do of the last game in Belt...I am hoping to get to it by the weekend. I have just had other things on my plate this week!

Celebrating Fall with CPS 87

Mmmm...it is a gorgeous fall day today. The sun is shining, the sky is mostly blue, and there are just a few fluffy clouds hanging around. And while many trees have already lost all their leaves, there are still many that haven't yet. I took some backroads home the other day, and there are still many neighborhoods with trees full of red, golden, and brown leaves. Makes me wish I had mature trees in my yard. It would be fun to play in the leaves with the dogs and have it feel more fallish. But, I am sure Josh is okay with not having a bunch of leaves all over the ground. :)

On another Fall note...I am going to be taking photographs of a family I know on Friday as long as schedules work out. We have this great park that I went and checked out the other day, and it still has its gorgeous Fall colors. They know I am not a professional, but am really working towards it. I know that it will be a long while before I can be considered a professional, and that is okay. I am really enjoying the learning process, even when photos don't turn out.

Panthers lose hard fought game to Victor

First things first...I am going to warn you that this post has LOTS of photos. 35 to be exact. I really like shooting in the daytime...lots of great photos to choose from, and I wanted to include the whole sequence of photos to tell the story better.

I think games like these ones are the hardest to lose. It was a battle for all 4 quarters of the game. One team scoring...the other team answering back. We were tied at 18-18 until late in the 4th quarter when Victor scored. Casey got hurt on defense in that drive, and with less than 2 minutes left the Panthers went on an offensive drive with back-up QB, Mike Buyan. He mustered up all the power in him to lob off a 25 yard pass to Levi Broksle, which got them within scoring range. But, on 4th down on the 3-yard line....the Victor Pirates defense held us from scoring that touchdown to tie it up. It was heartbreaking to watch, but at the same time...those boys did all they could to score and I was so proud of them. They all, each and every one of them, played their hearts out.

This was a tough season, that isn't over quite yet. The Panthers were plagued with injuries from the very first game of the season. And in 8-man football, where you don't have a lot of depth when it comes to replacements....losing people to injury is a deep blow. They play Belt on Thursday night, and have to wait for the result of the Twin Bridges/Charlo game on Friday night to know if they made the playoffs. If Twin Bridges win, Sheridan will take the 4th seed in the playoffs and play at Superior.

Casey's shoulder XRAY came up with nothing, and the doctor thinks the muscle might have just stretched too much on the hit. Casey lit Morgeau (the other player) UP in that hit that hurt his shoulder, as Morgeau was slow to get up as well. Casey plans on playing against Belt this Thursday, which I will not be at, but Josh will be. So, we won't be missing photos of any game.

Now to the photos! This first set of photos is just a great run by Casey. I don't think this play was set up to be a keeper, but that is how it worked out!

You may think this first shot is dumb because it is just a jumble of players. But in the second shot of this sequence, Casey has stretched out from behind this giant cluster to get a needed first down. That second shot is very cool...one of my faves!

Halloween cuteness on my mind...

I got some really cute new Halloween papers and glittery chipboard shapes recently. Along with the cold weather we have been having, Halloween fun has filled my mind these days! I don't really like scary or gory Halloween images...but I do love the cute stuff!

This is my card for this week's sketch, # 86, at the CPS blog. We were sponsored by Kandi Corp. again this week, where they asked us to use our hot fix applicators and the Brass It Up embellishments. They were a perfect touch for my Halloween card this week! (I also used some of the orange crystals from the last time they sponsored us as well....they matched perfectly!)
Now, don't hit the floor in amazement...because I actually got the 2 Sketches 4 U sketch done this week too! This is based off Kazan's sketch 11. More Halloween goodness going on here....I just love this ribbon I picked up on clearance at Michael's the other day!
This is my card from last week's sketch at the CPS blog...I just hadn't had a chance to post it until now. We were sponsored by Artistic Outpost last week, who sent us a fabulous set of vintage looking stamps. I happened to get the "Vintage Halloween" set, which I was so excited for! Just love those adorable little pumpkins!!
In publication news, I had three cards picked up for March 09 Cards Magazine. I havn't had a lot of time to make many new cards recently...so I was very happy that three of them did get picked up!

In random news...I can't WAIT for this political season to be over. I take care of all the political advertising at the station, and considering Obama has advertised basically all year long....I feel like I haven't had a break from it. I am definitely ready for it all to be over.

Well,that is all from me for now! I am hoping I get a little more card making time in tonight...we will see! And Casey has a game on Saturday afternoon against Victor. It will be great to shoot a game in the daylight...I forsee some awesomely clear photos coming my way!

Panthers down, but not out....

So, maybe I have been putting off posting about last Friday's game because I didn't really know what to say. We lost...big time. There isn't any other way to say it. The Superior Bobcats dominated the field in every way possible, and the banged up Panther team just couldn't overcome this time around. But do you want to hear something awesome...both teams showed amazing sportsmanship and respect out on that field. Helping each other up, patting each other on the back or helmet...I am pretty sure I even heard a few "good hit" and "good run" type remarks. The Panthers are not down and out though...they can still make it into the playoffs if they win this week's game. They play a hard Victor team, but I know the Panthers can win this one. Chins up boys....you played hard last week against a team that could possibly be playing on that last Saturday of the season.

Friday night was the last regular season home game, thus it was senior night. I got a couple of really sweet photos. This one is Paul Tezak in a big embrace with his parents.
And here are seniors Tanner Rowberry and Paul Tezak sharing a big manly hug...had to write it that way so it didn't sound girly. Hee hee!
